The Candles’ Curse

A flickering candle lit the corner of a room,
It warmed the only part -of the dark hidden tomb.
None came to visit, none able to leave
A bewitching curse, driven most captive to grieve.

This flickering candle danced in the dark,
It sung out in whispers -to lovers apart;
Drawing them in -to the curse of the room,
Enticing their sorrows, as they slip to their doom.

This candle which flickers, grins and it boasts
Raises its shadow -till it’s all but a ghost
-Taunts both the lovers, puts fear in their hearts,
Chains them eternally -till death do apart.

This candle (which flickers) leaves tender sweet trails,
Entices the lovers -to calm and set sail.
A journey to dark (as stories depicted)
Of man and of woman and being restricted.

This flickering candle, sets a death vow
Confines both our lovers -a field they can’t plough;
Opens the tomb -beckons them in,
They replace it’s remains -with sinister gains.

This flickering candle, it’s wick nearly burnt,
Blaze last inferno -until it just weren’t;
Lovers embalmed, the curse -but a rhyme,
The candle (now out) -until next time.

Shattered glass and spectral screams

Moonlit world of demon dreams

Teeth that gnaw, and bite, and snap

I must break free as wolves attack

Darkened forest, gloats and grins

Howling feral, resides within

Those teeth which gnawed, bit and snapped

Hunts down defences of which I lack.

And though I seek to hide away

Lock myself from fear today

The wolves I know are closing in

To tear apart my life of sin

Crimson stained my hands to thee

A line of corpses paves tracks to me

Stacking up, my hunger wanes

Of this trap I must refrain

Relapse

The dead of the night was etched with screams
Only she lay, silent, laced in dreams
Bound by the ghouls which wrapped up her bed
She lay in the night already dead

Dead, yet alive, she silently slept
Blankets shrouding her whilst she wept
Listening to illusions not really there
She fed off their negativity, unaware Continue reading

Stone slabs stare
Spectres softly whisper
I?
I stare,
lips bound
Goosebumps populating my skin
I still stare
A soundless cry parts my lips
Spectres watching
Spectres screeching
Wailing
Watching.
I should not be here
Not tonight
Not at this site
Not under this moon
(The bluest, full moon)
No,
I should not be
Yet here I stand Continue reading

The Patient Mind

The door swung open; I waited patiently as always.  I waited, I waited…it just swung back and forth in the wind, Sally smiled down on me “It’s time you stopped this -you know..?”

I shook my head “’it’s not time, I must now count to a hundred.”

“It won’t change.” she pressed my shoulders gently and left.

I waited, watching the breeze filter the leaves in and out, I counted.

Sally came again, I counted two hundred, then three, then four, “it won’t change,” she said again.  I knew, in my heart I knew, it would, but I couldn’t tell Sally, she didn’t know…she didn’t know the nights, the nights it changed, it promised it’ll change today –it promised yesterday and the day before, it promised, so it must, I knew, in my heart I knew.  Sally walked past, she walked past every day, said the same things, she never went away.  “It won’t change,” she taunted, she screamed in my head -that Sally needs to see how it will change, it promised it would.

Today Sally stopped by the door…it came, a grin spread across my face as she stepped outside…the door swung shut.
